Block 16: Beyond Our Solar System - The Universe

The Universe is REALLY Big



Counting the grains of sand on all the beaches in the world is an impossible task. It may be impossible, but it is possible to make an almost reasonable estimate.

The same is true of the number of stars in the universe. Most scientists put that estimate between 1011 and 1012. Since there are estimated to be the same number of universes, the total number of stars is those two numbers multiplied together giving 1023


ASSIGNMENT:

1. Watch each of the following videos. List five facts from each of them. Include and highlight the most important vocabulary in the video.

2. Read: pg. 715-722.

3. Do: Chapter 25 worksheet, pages 185 and 186.
